I have been studying art professionally since freshman year, but have been interested in the subject from a very young age. I have always been surrounded by musical and theatrical art at home, and I loved to go to art museums such as the MET and sketch for hours on end. I only really started delving into the world of fine and digital art when I was exposed to the proper materials for the job in highschool. With new tools and teachers at my fingertips, I began to pick up speed, and I realized that not only do I have a knack for this, but I also have a passion for this. By sophomore year, I had come out to the world as transgender. This allowed me to paint more freely about my identity without prying questions about some of my artistic decisions. Along with my identity, I also learned how to embrace and manipulate color. Much of my earlier work is black and white linework. This is a testament to my lack of knowledge and fear of colors and their power. Once I began to seriously paint with acrylic, I had to learn color theory. And once I did, I began to notice it's influence on everything around us, such as sports teams and holidays. Currently, my journey has taken me to oil painting, where I hope to emulate painters such as Egon Schiele, Chella Man and Cecelia Whittaker-Doe. I hope that in the near future my path takes a pit stop at digital art, where a whole new world will be opened up to me to discover and embrace.

I was born and raised in New York City, but I currently attend The Hotchkiss School (2016-2020), a boarding school in the middle of nowhere Connecticut. I have taken three years of art: Freshman and Sophomore Humanities Studio Art and Junior AP Art Portfolio. I am an avid reader, and also like to dabble in the world of theatre set building. I am also a queer, transgender artist.
